Shaun Ali is a self-taught photographer based out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  Holding multiple science degrees, Shaun has always found the technical aspects of photography not only rewarding, but as a means of recording the beauty of the natural world around us.

While he derives enjoyment from his day job as a geophysicist, Shaun's love of travel and adventure is what he lives for.  More often than not, that means hauling multiple cameras, many rolls of film, tripods, filters and other gear, around the world!

Shaun loves the power of photoshop and its capabilities however he spends way too much time in front of a workstation during the week and prefers to shoot with an assortment of filters at camera rather than "fix" his photos in post.  This isn't always possible, of course and when it happens, Shaun tries to restrict the amount of photo manipulation to methods found in a traditional darkroom.
